A monk or a Bodhisattva? Not sure. I didn’t stop to see if there was any description to this statue. Either way, another great example of the interesting mix of things you see when walking down a Japanese street. This was in Nagoya, in the middle of a busy street.

This is from the main altar at [Mikawa Betsuin][], a really nice Buddhist temple I toured not too long ago. I previously shared some other photos of it [here][1], [here][2], and [here][3]. I don’t know what the mixing bowl is for… Maybe for incense. If any of you know, please share in the comments.
