Cowboy Bebop

Are any of you fans of anime? I can’t say I’m a huge fan, but a few years ago I did watch and enjoy Cowboy Bebop. It took place in the far future, in space. As the title suggests, the main character was something of a cowboy, and there was a jazz influence to every episode. Actually it covered almost every genre of music, but always returned to jazz. I think the music is really why I liked the series so much.

What’s your favorite series?

Today’s photo reminds me of one of the best jazz pieces from the series, a fantastic song called Space Lion that features one of the most beautiful sax solos I have heard.

That Golden Sky

This was a lovely sky I caught about a week ago. Looking at the Oto River, one of the main rivers in Okazaki and one I’ve featured several times in other photos (like here).

Photo was processed with the Lightroom 4 Beta, by the way. It’s free, so if you have any desire to test it out, head to the Adobe website and get it.

Recent Days

Sorry about the lack of posts recently. I have been posting photos as ever, as you can see if you follow me on Google+, but due to a nasty bug, I haven’t been able to post on this site! All seems to be fixed now, however, so things should return to normal!

Sailor’s Delight

I used a new processing method on this photo today, called lab color. Read about it and then go watch a video. It’s interesting. I’ll have to play with it a bit more in days to come, but so far it did help me get a lot more color into today’s shot.

I do wish that building hadn’t been there, however. I didn’t have time or ability to get any higher, though, so we take what we can get.

What is all the more amazing about this photo to me is it’s from the iPhone. Besides the grain, this could almost come from a higher quality camera! The iPhone amazes me sometimes.

I was intending on some long exposure photography here, but there wasn’t as much traffic as I had hoped. It was a Sunday night, after all, I suppose.

But I got to enjoy a great view of the sun, so all the time spent at this location was far from wasted.
