The creative commons license confuses some people, so I thought I woud briefly explain.
To restate my policy
Everything you see here is copyrighted, but I have chosen to license it all to YOU the reader (viewer?) under the BY-NC-SA Creative Commons License.
What the heck does this mean: A Clarification
More or less this means you can use anything here freely for personal use (i.e., you don’t make money from it).
So feel free to download any photos you like, use them for your wallpaper, send them to friends, post them to your website, print them off and pass out free copies to homeless people, whatever you want. Download, save, enjoy—Guilt Free.
The only thing I require of you is if you republish my stuff elsewhere (say, on your website) then give me credit and provide a link back to this site. That’s it.
- Give me credit. Credit things to David A. LaSpina. Be sure to include the middle initial because there are other David LaSpina’s out there so it can be confusing.

I want to use your photo commerially or I’m not sure
Now if you want to use my stuff in a way that you aren’t sure is covered by the Creative Commons License, shoot my sales assistant an email at sales (at) japandave.com or use the contact form and we’ll see what we can do.
Same deal if you want to use anything here for commercial purposes—email.
