This may not be the best photo in the world, but I really wanted to capture the falling sakura petals. In Japanese, it’s called Sakura Fubuki (桜吹雪), which means Cherry Blossom Blizzard and it is incredibly beautiful to watch, especially when you are in an area with hundreds of trees — the entire sky turns white and it really does look like a blizzard.
After shooting the falling blossoms for about 30 minutes this day, I went to get a haircut. I didn’t realize I had a lot of blossoms stuck in my hair. The barber laughed and pointed them out to me, and told how much he was looking forward to getting off work so he could go to the park and see himself.

I see what you are saying. Had it not been for the magical layer of petals floating down, it would be quite an ordinary shot. Bottom line though, it’s a great shot.
Thanks
Perhaps I fall into the typical “artist” trap of only seeing the flaws. Hmm.
Wow, looks like the trees lose the sakura petals pretty quickly.
Yeah, they come and go pretty quickly. This year it was only about a week. But man… what an awesome week it was.
Wow, Dave! you caought the BEST part of Sakura Fubuki… aahhh… i wish i was there… it’s suce a beautiful moment… i totally agree with your barber!☺
I hope you can come see it next year. I agree with my barber too!
