Out of the Tunnel

Coming out from the under-street walking pass. As we saw before, you can see the ramp in the middle of the steps for bicycles. The mirror at the end is kind of interesting. You wouldn’t think it’d be necessary here, but I suppose maybe in the past there have been some bicycle collisions. People do like to ride down the ramps instead of getting off and walking the bike down, and teenage boys love to try and power ride their way up.

I snapped this a little from an angle to make it a little more interesting. Maybe I’ve been influenced too much by Japanese culture—traditionally, symmetry was something to be avoided. You can especially see this in the art of flower arranging (ikebana). Even had I shot this from the center, there are a few differences on on each side, true; maybe it was just instinct that made me shift a step to my left.
