Bicycle usage is far more common in Japan than it is in the States. I suspect it’s not as high as it once was, but it’s still up there and you can always see lots of folks riding: Kids to and from school, moms to the market, business men and women riding to work and back, and so on.
So these bicycle ramps with the bicycle track in the middle of the steps (or off to the sides sometimes) are very common. Often schoolboys will test themselves by refusing to get off the bike to walk it up, instead trying to power ride their way up. Sometimes they make it, but I’ve seen a great many failings, forcing them to very quickly jump off if they want to avoid crashing or sliding backwards.

Today’s shot is an HDR photo, made from 3 exposures. I went with a bit of a gritty look today, darkening down the entire image and purposely adding some noise. What do you think?
