I’m not a fan of pigeonholing people into specific categories, but at the same time, I suppose it is accurate enough to label me as a landscape photographer. I see a lot of beauty in landscapes and so do primarily shoot that way, but I also experiment with all kinds of shots. I’m always trying new things with my photography. In my opinion, the only way to grow and improve is to constantly stretch outside of our comfort zones.
Here is one of those experimental shots below. Taking photos of objects in motion is a challenging skill to master, and it’s a skill I rarely practice. However, I was fairly happy with the results.

See other bird photos.
By the way, are these doves or some other type of bird? Outside of my knowledge of the Japanese White-Eye, I’m kind of lost when it comes to birds. If I start getting into bird photography more, I suppose I’ll have to buy a Japanese birds guidebook. Any suggestions?
Also, check out my friend Mike Romani’s bird photography to see a real master at work.

They look like some sort of gull to me, but that’s just an uneducated guess based on the gulls we have around here.
My guessed are equally uneducated, so sounds good to me until we hear otherwise.
