Daily HDR Photo — Autumn Japanese Maple
Today’s photo is a autumn photo, some Japanese Maples, not quite to their reddest color yet, hanging over the castle pond.
About
Autumn will be here before we know it, so just a glimpse of what we have to look forward to. Going out and hunting down the best spots to see the changing leaves (momijigari) is nearly as popular as is going sakura watching in the spring.
I took this shot on the Okazaki castle grounds. The entire area has been planned to highlight the two favorite seasons of Japan. It is packed with Cherry Blossom trees for the Spring and Japanese Maples and Ginkgo Trees for the Fall, so it turns pink in the spring and a rich yellow and red in the autumn. Nice place.
