Street Sunset and The Golden Mean

The Golden Mean

Do you know about this number? 1.618, called phi. It’s an amazing value that shows up again and again and again in the natural world. Because of its prevalence in nature, it is sometimes called The Divine Ratio. I’m sure you all want to see today’s photo, so I won’t talk about it too much, but I came across a great video about it the other day. I’ll embed it after today’s photo, so scroll down if you want to see more.

Daily HDR Photo — Street Sunset

Today’s shot is a nice sunset view along a typical Japanese city street.

I caught this while walking home from grocery shopping the other day. Yes, I carry my camera with me when I go grocery shopping. You never know when you’ll see something interesting ^^.

I love how the orange just pops out like an explosion.

Remember, I offer the full-size version of this. Zoom in and let it fill your screen. I find HDR works best when the photo is too big for you to take completely in, so your eyes have to wander around. Try it.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
