Gate & Japanese Garden

Gate & Japanese Garden

Today’s photo is a good view of a traditional Japanese House. It’s surrounded by a beautiful, thick garden. A huge wooden gate leads in.

You actually can’t really see the house, right? Just a bit of the top. This is relatively common for older houses. Newer ones too if they can afford the ever-increasing land prices for that extra space.

Japanese gardens are amazing, and this one appears to be no exception.

The gates to homes come in a variety of styles. On the low end, you can pick up a simple black metal swing gate. That’s the most common kind. Then there’s the style you see above. Expensive, but beautiful.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

I love these gates on the older houses in Japan. I especially like the heavier stone and tile roofed gates. I will have to try and find some in Tochigi the next time I visit to photograph.

They are really cool, aren’t they? I’m going up to Tochigi City in a month or two, so I’ll look for you.

Cool. Thanks. I have seen some pretty cool traditional looking gates and houses in a few places in Otawara. Hopefully I’ll be able to get some pictures of them next time I visit in August.

I love japan! And love viewing the gardens, gates and houses. My friends thought I was so weird taking photos of their neighbors gardens. I only wish I could get my yard to look as nice. :)

heh I get that a lot. Doesn’t matter what you take a photo of, someone’s gonna think it’s weird. These Japanese yard gardens do look amazing, but they pay a lot of money to get them so nice.
